ICSE English Paper 2 Literature in English Question Paper Model

Literature in English
(Two hours)
Answer to this Paper must be written on the paper provided separately.
You will not be allowed to write during the first 15 minutes.
This time is to be spent in reading the question paper.
The time given at the head of this Paper is the time allowed for writing the answers
Attempt one question each from Section A, B and C and any other two questions.
You should answer five questions in all.
All the questions carry equal marks.
Section A
Drama: Julius Caesar
Question 1
Read the following extract and answer the questions given below:
Brutus:
Or else where this a savage spectacle
Our reasons are full so full of regard
That were you, Antony, the son of Caesar,
You should be satisfied.
Antony:
That's all I seek
And am moreover suitor that I may
Produce his body in the market place;
And in the pulpit, as become a friend,
Speak in the order of the funeral.
a) What is the savage spectacle referred to by Brutus? What does Antony mean by 'That's all I seek'?
b) Why does Cassius object to Brutus response to Antony's words in this extract? What do you learn of the character of Brutus and that of Cassius at this occasion of the play?
